Study trip Malta
Alexandra went on a study trip to Malta for you with LuxairTours.
Malta combines thousands of years of history with breathtaking nature. Immerse yourself in the fascinating culture, explore ancient temples and enjoy the crystal-clear water on picturesque beaches. With over 300 days of sunshine a year, Malta is the perfect destination for relaxation, adventure and unforgettable experiences.
The Must-sees of the trip
- MdinaMdina, the former capital of Malta, attracts visitors with more than 4,000 years of history. It goes without saying that there are a few historical treasures to be found here. For this reason alone, I would highly recommend a visit to this pretty town. Stroll through the narrow alleyways, take a look at the well-preserved medieval walls and let this charming town cast its spell over you: Mdina is one of the most beautiful cities in the entire Mediterranean region.
- ValettaMalta’s capital – built in 1566 by the Knights of Malta – is not only the smallest, but certainly also the most extraordinary capital city in the European Union. In 1980, Valletta was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in its entirety and was European Capital of Culture in 2018. Valletta is the first city in Europe ever planned on the drawing board. It was conceived as a magnificently designed fortress and built on a rock above a harbour, the “Grand Harbour”. The Order of Malta had a decisive influence on the city and brought it to enormous prosperity in over 200 years. The richly decorated convent church of the Order, St. John’s Co-Cathedral in the centre of Valletta, is probably one of the most impressive churches in the world.
- St Julian’sMost 5-star hotels are located here, the party district of Paceville is the centre of nightlife in Malta, the language schools attract young travellers and the central location is ideal for exploring the island. We have collected useful information and experiences for a trip to St Julian’s in our free online travel guide.
