Fascinating New Zealand
Immerse yourself in the adventure of New Zealand and discover the unique beauty of the country with us on this tour.
The trip combines all of New Zealand’s major sights: on the volcanic North Island, the harbour city of Auckland will enchant you just as much as the geothermal wonderland and fascinating Maori culture in Rotorua or the capital Wellington. After an impressive boat trip to the South Island, the breathtaking lake landscape and glacier world of the Southern Alps, the “adventure city” of Queenstown and the majestic Milford Sound await you, as well as the impressive journey on the TranzAlpine panoramic train.
The Must-sees of the trip
- RotoruaToday you will choose your own adventure, with your tour guide on hand to give you plenty of ideas. In the evening, immerse yourself once again in the fascinating Maori culture. As part of the “Te Pa Tu” cultural experience in an ancient forest village, you will experience traditional Maori ceremonies, dances and music, enjoy “forest kai horotai” (seasonal canapés) as an aperitif, followed by a three-course dinner.
- WellingtonThe day in Wellington should, or rather must, start with a coffee. The city is famous for its “uber-cool” cafés. On the morning city tour you will see the parliament building, the so-called “Beehive”, Wellington’s prominent Cuba Street and the characteristic red funicular railway. The trip up Mt Victoria is rewarded with a wonderful view over the city and the active harbour. The tour ends at the Te Papa National Museum, where you can marvel at the excellent Maori art collection.
- Kaikoura – ChristchurchAfter a relaxed start to the day, you have the opportunity to take part in various optional activities, such as a boat trip or a scenic flight to watch dolphins, fur seals and the sperm whales that often pass by the coast. Or try some delicious crab or fish at one of the fish and chip shops on the Esplanade. Continue across the Canterbury Plains to Christchurch on the River Avon, the largest city on the South Island, with its innovative architecture, numerous art centres and restaurants.
