Saxon Switzerland
Hike through one of the most beautiful landscapes in Germany, between spectacular rock formations and unspoilt nature.

Discover one of the most beautiful regions in Germany on this hiking tour: the Saxon Switzerland National Park. The unique rocky landscape reflects itself as a true natural spectacle and makes the heart of every “hiker” beat faster. A visit to Dresden, the capital of Saxony, rounds off this trip.
The Must-sees of the trip
- Visit Neurathen CastleThe medieval Neurathen Castle, set between the spectacular cliffs of the Bastei in Saxon Switzerland, is a true historical jewel. First mentioned in 1755, the castle was once the largest in the region, and although only chambers carved into the rock, secret passages, a cistern and the beam supports of the old wooden structure remain, the mystical atmosphere of the place remains the same. Between 1982 and 1984, parts of the castle were restored to create an open-air museum that offers visitors a fascinating insight into the medieval past. Imagine walking through these ruins, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, and feeling history come alive before your eyes.
- The ascent to the PfaffensteinFrom Pfaffendorf, the ascent to the Pfaffenstein begins, which you climb via a steep ascent through the “eye of the needle” – a gorge with a climbing system. At the summit, you can enjoy the many different views. You then make a detour to the Barbarine, a rock needle over 40 metres high. Via a historic, sandstone-paved path, you reach the small table mountain Quirl. After a good hour, you will reach the Diebskeller caves, which were inhabited in the Neolithic and Bronze Ages.
- Discover DresdenDresden, the capital of Saxony in Germany, is a city with a rich history and culture. It lies on the banks of the Elbe and is famous for its baroque architecture and numerous museums. The Frauenkirche, which was rebuilt after the Second World War, is a symbol of resilience and peace. The Zwinger Palace and the Semper Opera House are architectural jewels that attract visitors from all over the world. As you stroll through the Old Town, you will discover art and historical treasures on every corner, making Dresden a must-see for art and history enthusiasts.
