The Agora of Athens, once the heart of ancient city life, impresses with the excellently preserved Temple of Hephaestus. For an unforgettable view over the city, it is worth climbing Lycabettus Hill, especially at sunset. On Syntagma Square you can watch the ceremonial changing of the guard in front of the parliament – a unique spectacle. Finally, the Acropolis Museum with its fascinating artefacts offers a deep insight into ancient Greece.
