The Must-sees of the Trip
- NicosiaToday’s excursion takes you to Nicosia, also known as Lefkosia in Greek, with a city wall from Venetian times, a divided old town and traces of the Occident and Orient. It is a must for any trip to Cyprus. The Greek Orthodox Cathedral of St. John is located on a historic square with well-preserved murals and jewellery inside. After a city tour through the charming alleyways, you will have free time to stroll through the beautifully restored Laiki Geitonia neighbourhood with its souvenir and craft shops. You will also visit the temporary border, the so-called “Green Line”.
- Paphos (excursion package)Today’s half-day excursion takes you to Paphos. Firstly, you will drive to the village of Geroskipou, the so-called “sacred garden” of the goddess Aphrodite. Here you will visit the five-domed church of Ayia Paraskevi. You will then discover the city of Paphos, which was once the capital of the island and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will see the royal tombs and the magnificent Roman mosaics in the Houses of Dionysus. Afterwards there is time for lunch in a small typical fish tavern in the old harbour. This is followed by a visit to the monastery of St Neofytos. Afterwards, you will reach a breathtaking coastal stretch with the Aphrodite Rock, called Petra tou Romiou, where, according to Greek legend, Aphrodite was born from the sea foam.
- Troodos and the Byzantine churches (optional)This excursion takes you to the scenic Troodos Mountains. You will focus on the barn-roof churches, ten of which in this area alone are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The bright colours of the fresco decorations inside are overwhelming. You explore the listed village of Kakopetria on a walk. Nearby is the church of Agios Nikolaos tis Stegis, a typical gabled-roof or barn-roof church with outstanding murals. Continue to Omodos, one of the most beautiful wine villages in Cyprus.

Today’s full-day excursion takes you to the region around Limassol. The excursion begins with a drive through the plain of Fasouri and the Akrotiri peninsula in the southern part of Cyprus. You will then arrive at the acropolis of the archaeological city of Kourion, one of the most important city-kingdoms of ancient Cyprus. You will be able to visit the Roman theatre there.
From the rows of seats, you have a fascinating view of the beaches and the peninsula. You can also visit the mosaics in the house of Eustolios from the 5th century. The square castle of Kolossi, which was built at the end of the 13th century, is associated with the Order of St John.
Rock of Aphrodite (Petra tou Romiou)
This legendary place, around 25 kilometres from Limassol, is considered the birthplace of the goddess Aphrodite. The impressive rock formation in the sea is a popular photo motif and a place of mythological significance.
Limassol marina and old town
A stroll along the modern marina and through the narrow streets of Limassol’s old town offers a mixture of traditional and contemporary atmosphere. Here you will find numerous cafés, restaurants and shops.
