The Must-sees of the trip
- IstanbulAfterAfter breakfast, visit the Hagia Sophia, one of the largest churches in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Afterwards, you will visit the Blue Mosque, also known as the Sultan Ahmed Mosque, and the former Hippodrome Square, which is now part of Sultanahmet Square. You will then visit the Yerebatan Cisterna Basilica, an impressive water reservoir from the 6th century. In the old town, you will sample typical local specialities in a restaurant before we set off for the Grand Bazaar, one of the oldest covered markets in the world with over 4,000 shops.
- Suleymaniye MosqueDay at leisure or you can take part in an optional excursion. You will visit the Suleymaniye Mosque, the largest imperial mosque in Istanbul. Then explore the spice bazaar with its exotic spices and teas. Cross the Galata Bridge to Tünel and take the underground to Taksim. Here you will have free time for lunch and then enjoy the view from Pierre Lotti Hill with a Turkish mocha.
- Europe meets AsiaWalk through the old Jewish quarter of Balat with its colourful streets and historic buildings. Cross a suspension bridge to Asia and visit Camlica Hill with its marvellous view of the Bosphorus. After a tea or coffee break, try typical local specialities in a restaurant in Üsküdar. End the day with an unforgettable boat trip on the Bosphorus where you will experience Ebru art.

Grand Bazaar (Kapalı Çarşı)
Finally, we visit the Grand Bazaar, one of the oldest and largest covered markets in the world.
Tip: Don’t just shop – just let yourself drift, soak up the atmosphere and perhaps take a souvenir or spice home with you.
Café break: Relax in one of the small traditional teahouses in the bazaar.
