Tenerife
Tenerife is the island of a thousand experiences. There are thousands of things to do all year round, thanks to the mild climate and the wide range of activities on offer on the largest island in the Canary archipelago.
Enjoy a day at the seaside, hike through lush forests, discover impressive volcanoes and striking landscapes, that seem to be from another planet, imposing ravines and majestic cliffs. Contemplating the stars in the endless sky in good company or fulfilling your dream of seeing whales and dolphins swimming in the wild… Wow!
The Must-sees of the island
- Sailing with dolphins and whalesWatching the different whale species that swim freely in the waters off south-west Tenerife, one of the only places in the world where they can be seen so close to the coast, is an experience hard to forget.
- Climb Spain’s highest summit If there’s one thing Tenerife can boast, it’s its extraordinary natural spaces. But there’s one that stands out from the rest: the Teide National Park, the most visited in Europe. As well as featuring the impressive volcanic structure of Teide, Spain’s highest peak and a World Heritage Site, it offers a striking landscape that is sure to captivate you.
- Stargazing and constellation watchingRecognised all over the world for its near-perfect stargazing conditions, the Canary Islands have clear skies that are even protected by law. So if you’re a keen astronomer, or simply enjoy observing the night sky and spotting the constellations, Tenerife has plenty of places where you can go stargazing.

Visit a banana plantation, a Canarian treasure
Travelling to Tenerife without visiting a banana plantation is an incomplete trip, as banana growing is one of the island’s most emblematic activities.
In its latest report, ASPROCAN, the Association of Banana Producers’ Organisations of the Canary Islands, stated that Tenerife produced the largest volume of bananas in the Canary archipelago in 2022. The island produced more than 175,000 tonnes of bananas, more than 50% of the Canaries’ total production.
Exploring the plantations, discovering traditional growing techniques and tasting fresh bananas are must-do experiences on the island.
Take to the skies in a paraglider
There’s nothing like a paragliding flight to give you the freedom to explore Tenerife! Let yourself be guided by an experienced instructor and discover the magnificent mountains of the Costa Adeje, in the south of the island. The best part is that this activity is done in tandem and is accessible to everyone, even those with no previous experience.
Pick up at your hotel and meet and chat with experienced pilots. Once equipped with helmets and knee pads, follow the pre-flight instructions at the briefing. Take off with confidence and enjoy the breathtaking views from the air.
Hiking in the Anaga rural park
It would be a shame to come to Tenerife without exploring one of its beautiful forests. And the Anaga Rural Park, declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, is one of the best places to do so.
