  1. Sightseeing tour of Heidelberg and its castleThe coach takes visitors from Mannheim to Heidelberg. The city is known for its venerable university, which was founded in the 14th century. The old town and the Gothic Heiliggeistkirche church on the market square, which is lined with countless cafés, are also worth visiting. The red sandstone ruins of Heidelberg Castle are the highest point in the city. They are a well-known example of Renaissance architecture and are located on the Königstuhl.
  2. Rüdesheim: Bimmelbahn and the music museumGuided tour on the Bimmelbahn through the vineyards of Rüdesheim. Wine tasting in the historic cellars of the Bassenheimer Hof, a manor house from the 16th century. Afterwards, drive to the Siegfried’s Mechanical Music Cabinet Museum, which is located in a historic building from the 15th century. It houses an impressive collection of mechanical musical instruments and is one of the largest and most beautiful collections from the 18th to 20th centuries.
  3. New Year’s Eve gala dinner in a class of its ownThe gala evening is one of the highlights of the cruise and invites guests to get out their most elegant dresses and take advantage of the numerous entertainment options. MS Symphonie

Rhine

The Symphony, the most important of all musical compositions, is perfectly suited to this beautiful 5-anchor ship, from which it has its name, and to its routes on the Rhine and Danube, the romantic rivers par excellence. The MS Symphonie was completely rebuilt in 2017 and is a 5-anchor ship, measuring 110 metres long and 11.40 metres wide. It offers space for 106 passengers, who are accommodated in 55 cabins on two decks. Each of these cabins is equipped with all amenities and offers the best conditions for a pleasant stay. The blue (in reference to the beautiful blue Danube by Johann Strauss Sohn) and yellow colours of the decoration create a cheerful, lively and light atmosphere. The restaurant on the upper deck, where all meals are served during the cruise, offers delicious cuisine in a refined setting where you can enjoy the panoramic view thanks to the large windows. The lounge bar with dance floor is also located on this deck, while the sun deck, the ideal place to relax and enjoy the scenery, has comfortable deckchairs and a large shaded area.

There are many legends and stories in the Upper Middle Rhine Valley, but the most famous of all is probably that of Lorelei, the beautiful and melancholy mermaid whose song enchanted many of the boatmen passing by.

It is a pleasant walk along the banks of the Rhine to the historic centre of the city. Speyer is an old imperial city whose imposing Romanesque cathedral is one of the most important artistic monuments of the Germanic Roman Empire. The river harbour city on the Rhine has some noble aspects that are inscribed in both history and stone. As a former imperial city, it was home to fifty imperial diets, including the Reichstag, through which Protestantism was born. However, its most striking building is linked to Catholicism. The imposing cathedral with its four towers and two domes is an important building of the Holy Roman Empire. It has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was the burial place of eight kings and emperors. With a length of 134 metres, it is also the largest Romanesque cathedral in the world.

Strasbourg, which bears the title “Ville d’Art et d’Histoire” (City of Art and History), is an unmissable stop when travelling through Alsace. Its historic centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is internationally renowned for its exceptional architectural, historical and cultural heritage. The traces of its medieval and Renaissance past are deeply rooted in its genes.
