A long-lasting artificial ice rink floats on the lake, decorated with countless twinkling lights. Young and old can have fun on the synthetic ice. And after all that effort, you can head to the neighbouring winter bar to enjoy the enchanting view of this unique backdrop once again.
  2. Christmas marketsThe two Christmas markets in the city centre are back, but they have been given a new look. Equipped with new, cosy details, the stalls welcome you with their atmospheric lighting in typical winter glow style. In these winter villages full of cosiness and gadgets, you will effortlessly immerse yourself in the Christmas spirit. But did you know that each market also has a different character? At the Markt (Grand-Place) you will find everything you would expect from a traditional Christmas market, and at Simon Stevinplein (Simon Stevin Square) the focus is on short-chain products and arts and crafts.
  3. Warm Christmas decorationsLet yourself be enchanted by the new, warm Christmas and winter decorations. Hundreds of Christmas trees and thousands of lights make Bruges completely irresistible during the Winter Glow, as the whole city is transformed into a true winter wonderland. More than 500 Christmas trees, often metres high, and 41 decorated streets and squares. A delicious winter warmth. Or Bruges wrapped up in a beautiful gift package.

Follow the immersive light trail and discover Bruges as you’ve never seen it before.

For the sixth year in a row, we are illuminating Bruges during the Winter Glow with a beautiful light trail. The new immersive light trail is a cosy winter walk through ten unique light installations.

It takes you on a journey of discovery to hidden and surprising places in the city. Immerse yourself in a different world at each of the installations, which are connected by a blue light, and experience a moment of emotion and wonder.

Winter bar “Vorst“

The winter bar “Vorst” (Gel) offers an area of 300 m², is located right next to the Minnewater (Lake of Love) and offers a breathtaking view of the ice rink. Add local drinks and savoury snacks to warm you up and you have a place where you can linger for hours. Thousands of lights will make your evening unforgettable.

The carriage ride

Unlike other forms of transport, a ride in a horse-drawn carriage is also charming in winter. Wrapped in a warm wool blanket, this experience becomes very enjoyable.
