The Must-sees of the trip
- Christmas market in KrakowThe Christmas market in Krakow, which is set up every year in the beautiful square on Rynek Główny, is a true winter wonderland. Under twinkling lights and snowflakes, the wooden huts are full of Polish specialities such as pierogi, gingerbread and spicy mulled wine. The atmosphere is warm and festive, fuelled by traditional songs, folklore performances and local artisans selling handmade decorations, wooden toys and amber objects. It’s a magical immersion in Polish culture and ideal for experiencing the spirit of Christmas in an enchanting historical setting.
- Visit the Krakow Underground MuseumThe Krakow Underground Museum, located beneath the majestic Market Square (Rynek Główny), offers a fascinating insight into the city’s medieval history. On a tour through the interactive galleries and archaeological remains, visitors discover the secrets of old Krakow: old cobbled streets, merchants’ stalls, everyday objects and medieval technologies. Thanks to holographic projections, 3D reconstructions and immersive sound effects, the experience is both educational and captivating. This unique museum connects the past with the present and reveals the historical wealth that lies hidden beneath the footsteps of passers-by.
- Visit to the salt mine in KrakowThe Wieliczka Salt Mine, located just a few kilometres from Krakow, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Poland’s most impressive attractions. Descending over 100 metres underground, visitors discover a spectacular subterranean world formed entirely from salt: ornate chapels, statues, underground lakes and glittering galleries. The St Kinga Chapel, a masterpiece of mining art, astounds with its chandeliers made of salt crystals and its finely cut bas-reliefs. The tour, which is historical as well as artistic and sensual, reveals eight centuries of mining and the genius of Polish miners. It is an unforgettable experience between mystery and mineral beauty.

Culinary city tour through Krakow
A culinary tour of Krakow is a true taste adventure through the authentic flavours of Poland. Start with pierogi, dumplings filled with meat, cheese or cabbage, in a traditional mleczny bar. Continue with a zapiekanka, a half baguette topped with mushrooms, cheese and other ingredients, typical of the Jewish neighbourhood of Kazimierz.
Don’t miss bigos, a stew of sauerkraut and meat that is braised, or żurek, a sour soup made from fermented rye and served in a round loaf of bread. For dessert, savour a sernik (cheesecake) or makowiec (poppy seed cake), accompanied by a coffee or tea with red fruits. Every bite tells a story between peasant traditions and royal influences.

Visit the Jewish quarter in Krakow
The Jewish quarter of Krakow, Kazimierz, is a place steeped in history and emotion, where memory, culture and renewal intermingle. It was a vibrant centre of the Jewish community for centuries and is now home to restored synagogues such as the Old Synagogue and the Remuh Synagogue, as well as museums documenting pre-war Jewish life. As you stroll through the cobbled streets, you will discover a unique atmosphere between bohemian cafés, art galleries, street art and restaurants serving Ashkenazi specialities. The neighbourhood is also a place of remembrance, especially around the Second World War, with sites such as the former ghetto or Schindler’s factory. Kazimierz is a symbol of resilience, where past and present coexist intensely.

Free time in the city
On a day of walking in Krakow, start at the Market Square with St Mary’s Basilica and then walk down Grodzka Street to Wawel Castle. Walk along the Vistula River, cross it towards Kazimierz, where you can have lunch and explore the synagogues and cafés. End your trip with a walk through Planty, the park surrounding the Old Town, before enjoying a traditional dinner.
