The Must-sees of the trip
- The charm of the south coastYou reach Sozopol, one of the oldest ancient Greek settlements on the Black Sea coast, via several small villages and Burgas, the country’s fourth largest city. Despite its eventful past, Sozopol has retained its old charm. More than 80 houses here are listed as historical monuments and today the town attracts numerous painters and actors every summer. This former fishing town is a real gem, as it overlooks the sea from the rocky peninsula on which it lies. The town centre, classified as a historical and architectural heritage site, is full of small cobbled streets that lead you to small medieval churches and give you the opportunity to linger in front of the typical wooden-clad houses whose courtyards are dotted with colourful flowers. On a short boat trip from Sozopol, you will get to know the town from a different perspective. The programme also includes a guided tour of the old town followed by free time, lunch in a typical restaurant where you can see the island of St. Yvan from the beautiful terrace, and a short stop in Burgas on the way back.
- Off-road adventureDive into an exciting and eventful adventure! Get behind the wheel of a Mercedes-Benz jeep and explore wild and varied terrain. The drive through hilly landscapes with streams, fields and meadows in the middle of an unspoilt hinterland takes you off the beaten track. This off-road route invites you to discover the natural richness and spectacular diversity of your destination as you drive through charming villages where you will be warmly welcomed by the locals. A unique off-road experience awaits you!
- Country and peopleIf you like it quiet and authentic, you can immerse yourself in the beautiful Bulgarian countryside on this excursion. The first stop is at a small farm – Le Monde des Abeilles – nestled among fragrant meadows. In this apiary, the secret of beekeeping and the production of pure honey is passed down from father to son. Nikolay and his family will welcome you to introduce you to the fascinating world of beekeeping and share their passion and knowledge with you. You can taste the honey elixir and have the opportunity to purchase honey to take home the memory of the fragrant Bulgarian meadows. The programme continues at an altitude of 600 m at the Kamenyak farm and dairy, a family business. The owners will welcome you there and show you what Bulgarian sheep’s cheese is all about. Their cheese complies with organic farming guidelines and the farm has applied for organic certification. You will certainly enjoy the strong, strong or mild taste of the various local specialities and especially the famous Bulgarian yoghurt, while you let your gaze wander over the hilly landscape of the Balkan Mountains. At the end of the tour, you will be served lunch. It consists of typical cheeses such as Kashkaval or Sirene and is served with homemade bread and seasonal raw vegetables. The tour continues in the countryside through wheat fields, vineyards and natural landscapes to the Stratsin winery, where you can taste the white, rosé and red wines produced by a young winemaking couple, all made in the local tradition and infused with the sun and flavours of the region. The wines are served with charcuterie and cheese and you will enjoy the presence of the winemakers, who will share with you their endeavour to continue the family traditions while adding their own creative and modern touch.
