Christmas on the Canary Islands
Natural wonders and a stable subtropical climate make cruises to the Canary Islands a popular choice, especially in winter. An ideal setting for unforgettable holidays.
Long beaches, impressive natural attractions and a subtropical climate with constant temperatures all year round make cruises to the Canary Islands extremely popular, especially in the winter season. The perfect setting to spend the festive season in an extraordinary way.
The Must-sees of the trip
- Santa Cruz de TenerifeSanta Cruz de Tenerife is a beautiful harbour town on the island of Tenerife, the largest of the western islands of the Canary archipelago. From its large harbour you can discover wide avenues, squares and green spaces, as well as beautiful examples of modernist architecture. The history of Santa Cruz de Tenerife dates back to over four centuries. In 1494, Alonso Fernández de Lugo landed on the coast, but it was not until a century later that the city began to develop thanks to its harbour, which made it the second most populous city in the Canary Islands archipelago. Close to the harbour area, the city is spread out around promenades and wide avenues lined with modernist-style buildings. In the centre of the city, right by the sea, is the Plaza de España, which was built in the middle of the 20th century on the former site of San Cristóbal Castle (16th century).
- Las Palmas de Gran CanariaWhile the island is characterised by cliffs in the north and long beaches in the south, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is a city that offers sun, beach and a rich historical heritage. The city of the mestizos enjoys mild temperatures all year round. The mixture of the indigenous Guanche culture, the colonial past and the fact that the island is 90 miles from the African coast explains why the island is characterised by African, European and American cultures.
- Puerto del Rosario (Fuerteventura)Lapped by the turquoise, crystal-clear waters of the Atlantic, Puerto del Rosario is a commercial town that attracts visitors in many ways. The capital of Fuerteventura is a well-kept town with white houses. Its harbour is very important and its seafront promenade is very picturesque. It is surrounded by other very typical towns and its coast is equipped with the most modern and suitable facilities for windsurfing.

A journey on board an extraordinary ship
MSC OPERA
Canary Islands
Refined style, beautiful materials and attention to detail make the MSC Opera a magnificent cruise ship. She is built more classical than her sister ships in the Musica and Fantasia class, creating a special atmosphere on board while giving you the opportunity to visit destinations that are inaccessible to larger ships.
San Sebastián de la Gomera (La Gomera)
San Sebastián de La Gomera is the capital of the island, also known as “Isla Colombina” due to its historical connection with the discovery of America. The town grew around a natural bay, where many interesting places and monuments can still be found today, such as the church of La Asunción, the Puente de la Aguada fountain and the Torre del Conde tower.
The excellent tourist infrastructure offers a wide range of leisure activities, including the possibility of practising all kinds of water sports in the harbour area. Inland, hiking or cycling tours are the best options for discovering the rugged orography of La Gomera and some of its natural treasures, such as the Majona Natural Park and the Garajonay National Park.
Funchal/Madeira (Portugal)
Have you ever wondered what it’s like to stroll through a cosmopolitan city with a European atmosphere, located on an Atlantic island with almost unspoilt natural landscapes? Funchal, the capital of the Madeira archipelago, offers its visitors this opportunity by harmoniously combining urban sophistication and a relationship with nature. Between historical monuments, museums, restaurants with unique flavours and knowledge, numerous leisure facilities, tropical gardens, beaches, magnificent viewpoints and a lively cultural calendar. If you don’t know what to do in Funchal, you will find a wide range of places to discover and experience. Come and venture into this future-oriented capital on the Atlantic.
Santa Cruz de la Palma (La Palma)
This flirtatious little town has a close connection to the sea. We invite you to stroll through the streets during the day and at night and soak up the history of this charming town.
The old town of Santa Cruz de La Palma, which is characterised by a colonial atmosphere, has been declared a Historic-Artistic Site due to its numerous palaces, colonial-style buildings and traditional Canarian homes. Not forgetting the celebration of the Bajada de la Virgen de las Nieves, the patron saint of the island, with its churches and sanctuary, a special place for a centuries-old traditional festival.
