Valletta – the capital of MaltaValletta, the capital of Malta, was ingeniously built by the Order of St John in the 16th century. It exudes Baroque elegance and is rightly referred to as an open-air museum, as it is home to numerous historical buildings such as St John’s Co-Cathedral and the Grand Harbour, which were masterfully designed by the Knights. Covering an area of just 900 metres by 630 metres, over 25 churches adorn the landscape. This remarkable city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a testament to its cultural significance and architectural splendour.
Megalithic templesThe remains of temples built in the fourth and third millennium BC are a unique sight. Stone idols, depictions of animals carved in relief, stone tablets, altars and surfaces decorated with spirals and other patterns add to the appeal of these magnificent sanctuaries. Some of the places worth visiting are Ħaġar Qim in Qrendi, the temples in Tarxien and Ġgantija in Gozo.
DivingMalta is famous for its clear blue waters and perfect diving conditions. Numerous reefs, caves and the remains of old shipwrecks make it an unforgettable experience. Take the opportunity to go on a boat trip and head for one of these places.

Gozo

The sister island of Gozo is definitely worth a visit. Hire a car or book a day trip in a jeep, which is offered by several tour operators. When you step ashore, you will immediately notice the difference between the two islands. Gozo has a quieter atmosphere and is full of lush farms.

During your stay, don’t miss the citadel in Victoria, the salt pans, the inland sea and the cliff where the Azure Window (one of Malta’s most famous landmarks) once stood before it collapsed in early 2017.

Mdina

Mdina, the old capital of Malta, is a typical medieval town situated on one of the highest hills on the island. Known as the “Silent City”, Mdina is one of the few remaining fortified Renaissance towns in Europe. Climb to the top to enjoy a marvellous view of the island.

Mediterraneo Marine Park

Just a short drive from St Julian’s is the Mediterraneo Marine Park, an attraction for children and adults alike. The park offers shows with sea lions and the opportunity to swim with dolphins. Snakes, turtles, frogs and spiders – among others – are at home here.
