Further south, Dominica reveals its wild treasures: tropical forests, volcanoes, sperm whales and exceptional seabeds. An authentic experience in the heart of nature, far from mass tourism.
The Must-sees of the trip
- The island of Marie GalanteNicknamed “la grande galette” (the big cake), Marie-Galante has an appealing authenticity, a gentle way of life and white sandy beaches lined with coconut palms. Far from mass tourism, the island is reminiscent of the Guadeloupe of yesteryear. Farniente, snorkelling or a visit to a rum distillery, such as Père Labat, will punctuate your stopover in the heart of the Caribbean.
- Dominica: the nature islandNestled in the heart of the Lesser Antilles, Dominica captivates visitors with its spectacular unspoilt nature. Nicknamed the “nature island”, it is home to lush forests, waterfalls, volcanoes and crystal-clear rivers. It is also the only place in the world where sperm whales live all year round, with an ideal observation period from November to March. From Caribbean villages to diving, hiking and guided excursions, the island offers a real return to basics.
- Malendure and îlets PigeonAt lunchtime, you will head for Malendure, opposite the îlets Pigeon, in the heart of the famous Cousteau reserve. Listed as a biosphere reserve by UNESCO, these islets can be explored by kayak or snorkel. Their seabed, one of the richest in the West Indies, was immortalised by Captain Cousteau in 1956. Coral reefs, multicoloured fish and exceptional biodiversity await you in this true underwater paradise.

Comfort at sea aboard the Catlante 600

CATLANTE 600
Guadeloupe – Martinique
The Catlante 600 is a comfortable catamaran with vast outdoor spaces, a sunny fly bridge, a swimming platform and nautical equipment available (snorkelling, kayak, paddle depending on destination). It has 6 cabins (double, triple, modular) for 12 to 14 passengers, as well as a motorised tender for landings.
Sunset in the West Indies – An unforgettable sensory experience
In Guadeloupe or Martinique, sunset is a breathtaking natural spectacle: the sky is decked out in warm, vibrant colours, reflected by the calm waters of the Caribbean. This special moment, ideal for an end-of-day beach break or excursion, adds a touch of emotion and authenticity to any holiday.

Testing the torment of love
Tourment d’amour is a delicious traditional pastry from Les Saintes (Guadeloupe), with a shortcrust pastry base filled with coconut jam, topped with a soft sponge cake. Both melt-in-your-mouth and fragrant, its exotic flavour and simplicity make it a delight to eat warm, with a cup of coffee or a local juice. It’s an emblematic sweet, often found in markets or artisan bakeries.

The artisanal production of Saintoises
Saintoises are small traditional boats, emblematic of the Saintes archipelago in Guadeloupe. Hand-built by local shipwrights, they are the fruit of skills handed down since the 18th century. Made from local woods such as pear, mahogany and northern timber, they combine robustness and elegance. Initially designed for sail fishing, they have evolved to incorporate engines while retaining their slender silhouette and stability at sea. Today, they embody a living heritage, celebrated during regattas and still present in Guadeloupe’s harbours.
