Costa Fascinosa

The Costa Fascinosa is a cruise ship in the Costa Crociere fleet inspired by theatre and film classics. Launched in 2012, the Concordia-class cruise ship offers space for up to 3780 passengers. Valletta, the capital of Malta, is a historic city founded in 1566 by the Knights of the Order of St John. Situated between the Grand Harbour and Marsamxett Harbour, it is known for its Baroque architecture, its chequered streets and its many landmarks, including St John’s Co-Cathedral and the Grand Master’s Palace. Despite its small size, Valletta is one of the most concentrated historical areas in the world, with over 320 monuments in an area of just 0.55 square kilometres. The city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and offers a unique experience that combines history, culture and breathtaking views of the Mediterranean.

Located on the east coast of Sicily, Catania is a dynamic city dominated by the majestic Mount Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe. Catania was founded by the Greeks in the 8th century BC and has a rich history characterised by natural disasters such as volcanic eruptions and earthquakes. The city is famous for its Baroque architecture, which was rebuilt after the earthquake of 1693 with its iconic landmarks such as the Piazza del Duomo with the Elephant Fountain, the city’s landmark. Catania is also an important industrial and commercial centre with an international airport, making the city a gateway to Sicily. As you stroll through the streets, you will discover a fascinating mix of ancient traditions and modern life.
