The Must-sees of the trip
- Puerto del CarmenImagine low square houses and more than six kilometres of golden sandy beaches and you get Puerto del Carmen, the luxurious tourist centre of Lanzarote. With a variety of restaurants, a vibrant nightlife and shops, this place is a guarantee for a gourmet trip. Sample fine wines and stroll along the beach in the evening for the ultimate relaxing moment.
- César Manrique Foundation – House of Volcanoes in TahícheArt and nature merge in the spectacular surroundings of the House of Volcanoes, which is managed by the César Manrique Foundation. This former house of the famous artist César Manrique was built in the middle of a past lava flow and offers a unique insight into his life and creative vision. The upper floor of the 3,000 square metre building showcases the traditional architecture of Lanzarote, while the lower floor is ingeniously built around five natural volcanic bubbles connected by tunnels. Admire the pool, ballroom and barbecue area, all surrounded by lush vegetation and magnificent basalt. The foundation houses a number of Spanish paintings and artefacts, as well as fascinating photographs, magazine articles and videos that shed light on Manrique’s life and artistic philosophy. Admire the impressive blend of nature and creativity and be inspired by the harmony created in this remarkable volcanic house.
- Playa BlancaThe entire area around Playa Blanca is served by a long beach promenade (some sections are just a footpath) and is home to two beautiful white sandy beaches: Playa Dorada and Playa Flamingo. The marina of Rubicón is also very popular for its beach atmosphere and the quays surrounded by small shops, bars and restaurants. Distance to the airport: 35 km.
