Malaga
Less famous than other Spanish cities, Malaga is nonetheless seductive from the first visit. The birthplace of Picasso, it combines history, modern culture, beaches and year-round sunshine – a true slice of paradise.
Málaga may not be as popular as other Spanish cities, but a quick visit to the birthplace of Pablo Picasso is enough to capture the heart of any visitor. Combining ancient history with modern culture, almost 3,000 hours of sunshine a year and several kilometres of beach, it’s easy enough to see why Malaga has been dubbed a ‘city of paradise’.

Roman Theatre
Located at the foot of the Alcazaba fortress, the Teatro Romano (Roman Theatre) is Málaga’s oldest monument. Built in the first century BC during the reign of Emperor Augustus, this ancient theatre remained in use until the third century AD. It then fell into ruin over the centuries until the Moors settled in the area, using it as a quarry to build the Alcazaba fortress. Over time, it was buried under rubble and remained hidden for almost five centuries. In 1951, the first archaeological traces were discovered during the construction of the Casa de Cultura, which led to its rediscovery.
