Morocco
Morocco is one of the most popular oriental travel destinations in Africa. Its four royal cities of Fez, Meknes, Marrakech and Rabat exude an irresistible fascination. The country unveils enchanting landscapes and an extraordinary cultural heritage in its cities, but also offers exceptional bathing opportunities on the Atlantic. Beyond the seaside resorts, the mountainous hinterland is characterised by barren plateaus and green valleys dominated by mighty Berber kasbahs with a castle-like appearance.

The royal city of Marrakech is considered the most beautiful city in the Maghreb. The Medina, the old town with its rich traces of Almohad culture, with its labyrinth of narrow alleyways, colourful souks and magnificent palaces from past centuries, rivals the beauty of the new town built under the French protectorate. The Jemaa el Fna square is animated day and night by an exotic and colourful spectacle and attracts everyone who visits Marrakech like a magnet. The Atlas Mountains rise majestically in the distance and form a breathtaking backdrop to the ochre-coloured city.
The Must-sees of the trip
- The souks, the madrassa and Jemaa El FnaThis half-day excursion allows you to explore the different neighbourhoods of the souks and the medina. On a guided tour, you will meet craftsmen and discover their skills (tanners, saddlers, blacksmiths, carpenters, potters, jewellers,…). The excursion ends at the fascinating Jemaa el Fna square.
- Dinner show in the Agafay desertThis activity takes you to the Agafay desert just outside of Marrakech and immerses you in the heart of Moroccan culture. Including a dinner show as part of a typical southern Moroccan bivouac, this evening will leave a lasting impression on you.
- Visit to EssouiraThis excursion takes you to the Atlantic coast to the city of Essaouira (approx. 230 km from Marrakech), where you may see goats on the argan trees. The tour also includes the old town of Essaouira, the Jewish quarter and the old Portuguese fortress. Afterwards, you will have free time on the beach.
