Day trip to Piton de la FournaiseClassified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Piton de la Fournaise is one of the world’s most active volcanoes, with a summit altitude of 2,631 metres. Easily accessible via the volcano’s forest road, which starts in the heart of the Plaine des Cafres, near the village of Bourg-Murat, the Piton de la Fournaise is also the island’s most visited tourist site.
