An elegant urban refuge in the heart of Rovaniemi

The Arctic Light Hotel is an excellent choice for those wishing to stay in the heart of Rovaniemi, close to cultural venues, bars and shops. Family-run since it was built in the 1950s, this boutique hotel was housed in the former town hall. Since then, it has been completely refurbished, with a trendy design that combines comfort and elegance with a focus on Lapland’s traditions. Here you’ll find stylish rooms and the chance to experience the Finnish sauna ritual. You will also have a ritual breakfast cooked each morning with the utmost care by renowned chef Sara La Fountain, as well as the tempting culinary offer using only local produce. A visit to a husky and reindeer farm

At the Ratiola reindeer and husky farm, you’ll learn more about these two emblematic animals of Lapland. The programme includes a 3-kilometre (approx. 15-minute) dog-sleigh ride through a snow-covered forest, giving you a chance to appreciate their agility.

This excursion is also an opportunity to meet Santa’s favourite animal. You’ll be able to get close enough to feed them, and then take a seat on a sleigh pulled by a reindeer over a distance of around 500 metres. Of course, a guide will explain everything to you and you’ll leave with your reindeer driving licence! You’ll also be served a traditional two-course lunch.

Over a distance of around 10 km, you’ll take the reins of a carriage that will lead you gently through a pristine and breathtaking landscape.

Lapland evening by the fire

Enjoy the magic of candlelight and a campfire. Wrapped up in warm clothes by the fire, you’ll enjoy barbecued Lapland specialities and a magnificent fire show! (duration: 4 to 5 hours)
