  1. ZurichInwinter, Zurich is decked out in a thousand lights and becomes a veritable fairytale setting thanks to its Christmas markets dotted all over the city. The most famous, located in the main railway station, enchants visitors with its huge fir tree decorated with Swarovski crystals and its wooden chalets brimming with Swiss specialities, handicrafts and winter treats. Other markets, such as Sechseläutenplatz in front of the opera house or the romantic Old Town Market, offer a warm atmosphere of mulled wine, carols and glittering decorations. Strolling around Zurich at this time of year is like experiencing the magic of Christmas in an elegant and welcoming Alpine setting.
  2. GstaadGstaad, an Alpine jewel in the heart of the Bernese Alps, captivates with its understated elegance and picture-postcard atmosphere. Take a stroll through the pedestrianised centre of the resort, where traditional chalets are home to luxury boutiques, refined restaurants and exclusive hotels. The atmosphere is both chic and warm, perfect for a gourmet break or a shopping spree in a dream setting. This is where your unforgettable journey begins on board the GoldenPass Panoramic, a train with large windows that takes you to Montreux through spectacular scenery: deep gorges, sparkling waterfalls, snow-covered forests and peaceful valleys pass before your eyes in a breathtaking winter panorama. A magical experience of unspoilt nature and Alpine refinement.
  3. MontreuxMontreux, the pearl of the Swiss Riviera, stretches gracefully along the shores of Lake Geneva, facing the majestic Alps. The Gornergrat is much more than a summit: it’s a window onto the majesty of the Swiss Alps.

At the Swiss Christmas markets, the culinary specialities are a real feast for the senses, combining Alpine tradition with festive gourmet delights. Among the must-tries are melt-in-the-mouth raclette, served on potatoes or crusty bread, spiced mulled wine with cinnamon and citrus aromas, and grilled bratwursts and golden röstis. The sweet treats are not to be outdone: cinnamon biscuits (Zimtsterne), gingerbread, handmade chocolates and hot chestnuts warm the hearts in a fairytale atmosphere. These delicacies, served in wooden chalets decorated with garlands and lights, are an integral part of the magical experience of Switzerland’s Christmas markets.
